Let's go to sleep.

Monday, June 21
Breisach to Vogtsburg, and off-roaded through the vineyards and such. Probably 20 miles biking. Then went on a run up in the vineyards, forests, etc. This was such an awesome place to run! 50 minutes, probably about 5.5 miles. Hilly.

Tuesday, June 22
Vogtsburg to Basel, Switzerland, 45 miles or so. After Breisach, the Rheintalweg and the other Rhine route converge, so biking along the Rhine is much easier, and the signage is really good. There was one high stress traffic situation involving sheep, but other than that, the going was easy, and we arrived in Basel quite early (1PM or so). In Basel, we ran for 40 minutes, followed by 6 striders and abs. 5 miles (including striders)? Switzerland is soooooooooo expensive!

Wednesday, June 23
Basel to Schaffhausen (Switzerland still). This was supposed to be 65 miles. But we got lost a freaking lot, so I'm going to say 80 miles today. We made it to the Rhine Falls before dusk, though, which was the goal. Also the people we asked for directions were super nice. And kind of adorable. No running today; got into the hostel too late; tired.

Thursday, June 24

Schaffhausen to Reichenau (Vegetable Island!). 35 miles or so. Ran one lap (quite rapidly, I thought) around the island, about 7 miles (59 minutes). Yummy fish afterwards.

Friday, June 25
Reichenau to Friedrichshafen, stopping (a) in Konstanz because we were lost; (b) in Mainau to look at awesome flowers; (c) to take a ferry to Meersburg. 25 miles? Then train from F'shafen to Bad Waldsee. Twilit/moonlit (~full moon) run in Bad Waldsee. To the Stadt See and 4 laps around it (10:30, 10, 9:30, 9:30). I guess the last 3 laps were kind of tempo-like. I think each lap was about 1.3 miles. Probably 5.5 miles today.

Saturday, June 26
Bad Waldsee to Ulm, 45 miles. We didn't really know how to get to Ulm, but we figured it out eventually. Stopped at a huge farmer's market thing in Biberach and got erdbeers. In Ulm, climbed the tallest steeple in the world! Then ran along the Danube. 77 minutes, not slow, or so I think. 9 miles?

Sunday, June 27
Ulm to Dillingen, 35 miles, along the Danube. Watched the Germany v. England game in Dillingen, then (slightly buzzed), ran for a bit, with all deliberate speed. 20 minutes to the river, drills, 6x100m striders, 15 minutes back. 4.5 miles? Abs.

Week total: 36.5 + (280) miles
